MERCI LEE

MERCI LEE is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in Sichuan-style teppanyaki cuisine.

There will be a lot of noise at the beginning of a brand, which will interfere with the precise positioning. After an in-depth understanding of the brand's product form and business philosophy, we decided to cut down its long design requirements checklist, and in the end there were only two indispensable requirements: comfortable and social feeling...

The original site is a shape like a chicken leg with a big head and a small tail. We used a lot of arcs in the design to weaken the weirdness of this site shape. The circular bar is set near the entrance, and it extends to the deep inside, but it is not common for a Chinese restaurant to be too revealing, so we also added a curtain in front of the door. Through the gauze curtain, you can vaguely feel the atmosphere in the store. It adds a layer of hazy mystery.

The bar counter play the most important role for socializing. Therefore, it have became core of the space with terms of scale, layout and lighting arrangement. It is like a stage in a theater, or a spotlight that flickers in the dark. The customer watching the chefs' skills while drinking, and the chefs sharing the fantastic of the food with the customers while the fire rising. As for the scattered seats around the bar, they are spectators, they are deliberately weakened in the space, there is no superfluous role, and only the tabletop is faintly illuminated.

Clean and neat. It is a simple evaluation of this oriental Chinese restaurant. There is no extra decoration, no overly portrayal, all the designs are emotional and restrained, and everything is to a tee.
